Set-Up
Arrive at 7:15am to help Meet Coordinator set up head tables and chairs, ready bench area, canopies for timers and head table, chairs under canopies for swimmers, number board, rope to close off area for timers and close off diver boards, set up sound system, run electrical for head table.

Ready Bench Coordinator

You will be provided a list of events along with swimmers names in a time card.  Give the swimmers their time card, check to see that a lane and heat have been assigned, and if not, assign them a lane.  Work with Ready Bench workers to organize the kids based on their heats.  Work with Ready Bench helpers to position the swimmers in the proper ready bench slots.

Ready Bench

Work with Ready Bench Coordinator to position the swimmers in the proper ready bench slots and help the swimmer move forward in the proper order.  Consolidate heats when possible.  Take swimmers (8 & under) to the starting block area by heat position then into the proper lane.

Timers

Three timers are assigned to a single lane and are responsible for timing the swimmer in that lane.  A back-up timer is available if anyone misses the start.  One timer in each lane will record the three times on the swimmers card and circle the median time.  Timer coordinator will provide further information the day of  the meet.

Runner

Take the cards for the 8 & under swimmers and give them to the timers.  The lane runner picks up the cards from the lane writers after each heat, and judges slips from the judge after each heat, and delivers them to the card sorter at the head table.

Sorter

First sort the cards from each heat of multiple heat events, then mark the card of the heat winner.  At completion of each event, the sorter combines the cards by time and checks them against the judge’s slip.  Mark the cards 1st through 6th place.  Separate the cards by team.  Mark any DQ’s on the card and list our teams on the DQ sheet with the reason why.

Ribbon Writer

Prepare the ribbons to be presented to the swimmers.  Select the correct ribbon based on placement, attach label to back of ribbon.  Handwrite any heat winner ribbons with swimmers name, date, event and time.  Sort ribbons, and file each ribbon in swimmers envelope.

Clean-Up
Responsible for tearing down meet; put away all equipment and ensure that the pool area is completely cleaned up.
